Bikes and Equipment can only be hired from on completion of a Booking Form which you will be asked to fill out when you arrive on site.

The signatory of the Booking Form is designated the Hirer. A Booking is made by the Hirer (hereinafter referred to as You) by submitting your completed Booking Form to (hereinafter referred to as BBH) along with your Deposit. Upon acceptance by BBH of your completed Booking Form a binding contract is formed between BBH on the terms and conditions set out below. We reserve the right not to accept or fulfill a Booking. All Bookings are subject to availability. When a Booking is made by one person on behalf of another person or other people (as the case may be), the person making the Booking confirms to BBH that he or she has the authority to make such Booking on behalf of the other person(s) (as the case may be). The Hire Period commences on the day the cycle(s) and equipment is collected by or delivered to you and continues until the cycle(s) and equipment is returned to BBH. In this agreement hire refers to any self-guided journeys you or any members of your group make using the cycles hired from BBH under the terms and conditions of this Booking Form. As signatory of this Booking Form you accept responsibility for ensuring that any and all members of the group included in the Hire covered by this Booking Form comply with the terms and conditions below.


1.The bicycle hired, including all accessories and attachments supplied herewith the bicycle remains the property of bathbikehire ( Bathbikehire “ the owner”) and the hirer will not hire out, sell, lend or otherwise part with possession thereof.
2.The hirer acknowledges and agrees that the bicycle is in good condition in all respects and undertakes not to misuse it and to return it with all accessories in the same condition as when received to Bathbikehire on the due date specified on the hire forms as signed by the hirer ( ordinary wear and tear is expected, determined at the discretion of bathbikehire ). The owner shall be entitled to charge the hirer for all damage caused to the bicycle during the period of the hire. In the event of breakdown other than as a result of the hirers misuse of the bicycle, Bathbikehire will use its best endeavours to repair it or procure it’s repair.
3.The period of hire commences at the time of collection and is deemed to continue until Bathbikehire receives the bicycle as aforesaid.
4.The owner shall not be liable for any damage caused or loss made whatsoever by breakdown or other defects in the bicycle or other circumstances beyond Bathbikehire’s control. The hirer will indemnify Bathbikehire in respect of all costs, claims, expenses and demands which it may suffer or incur and which arise directly or indirectly out of the use of the bicycle during the hire period. The owner reserves the right to charge the hirer in part or in full settlement of any such claim, using the debit/credit card detail given as security deposit.
5.In the event of the bicycle being lost or stolen, the owner reserves the right to call upon the hirer to indemnify the owner the replacement value of the bicycle not being less than £ 500. However, should the bicycle be recovered in a usuable condition the owner hereby undertakes to refund the hirers indemnity within 14 days.
6.The hirer shall be solely responsible for and shall keep the owner fully indemnified in respect of all fines, impositions or other penalties occasioned by the use of the bicycle during the period of hire in respect of violation of any Acts of Parliament, Orders, Regulations or Bye Laws for the time being in force.
7.Any conditions or warranties not expressed and which might be implied on the part of the owner except Statutory Warranties are excluded.
8.The hirer is over 18, and will ensure that the bicycle is adequately secured to an immovable object when not in use, will not use the bicycle whilst under the influence of drink or drugs and will immediately notify Bathbikehire in the event of any breakdown or loss of the bicycle other than those reasonably repairable by the hirer. These should be reported to the owner upon the return of the bicycle.
9.The hirer will pay the owner on demand all costs incurred under the agreement. The estimated rental charge (calculated as per the Owners current lists) plus any charges for additional accessories and attachments, is payable in advance before collection, together with a deposit as advertised. Any refunds due, if any will be made when the Bicycle is returned to the Owner as aforesaid.
10.In the event of cancelled forward booking, a minimum of 20% of the rental charge thereof will be payable together with the balance thereof should the Owner be unable to re-hire the Bicycle in question for the same period.
11.You are responsible for ensuring that you are physically fit enough to undertake cycling any distance using the Bathbikehire cycle(s) you have booked. Bathbikehire does not accept any responsibility for your failure to complete your Hire period or Tour due to lack of fitness, illness or injury. Bathbikehire does not accept liability for death, personal injury, loss or damage to personal effects to any participant, nor can Bathbikehire accept any responsibility for delays or changes to your period of Hire or Tour due to weather, strikes, war, terrorism or other causes.
12.LATE RETURNS : The Late return of a cycle will incur an additional charged payable by the hirer upon return for each bike late. For bikes hired for the morning, this charge will be equal to the Afternoon rate for the cycle in question, and will be levied against all BIKES LATE BY MORE THAN 20MINS.Bikes hired for the Day and not returned with in Fifteen minutes of the Return time, as stated on the top of the hire agreement, will incur a late return charge of £5.00 for any period after this up to the first hour, and an additional Days hire charge for all bikes over an hour late.If you know you are not going to be able to get back by the agreed time, then please call us and let us know! THESE CHARGES WILL ONLY BE WAIVED IN EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES.

13. If the hirer shall commit any breach of the terms of this agreement Bathbikehire shall be entitled, but without prejudice, to any other rights or remedies which it may have to terminate the hire of the bicycle, and to recover possession thereof without notice, and to make a reasonable charge for such repossession. No rights of Bathbikehire under the agreement will be waived except in writing signed by a director of BathNarrowboats pp Bathbikehire.
